Artwork Usage Rights

Simple, clear guidelines for how you may use your artwork

All calligraphy and portrait pieces are custom‑created by hand. This page explains what you are allowed to do with your final files, what requires permission, and what is not permitted. The goal is to keep things easy to understand while protecting the integrity of the artwork.

Personal Use Rights (Included)

You are welcome to use your final calligraphy or portrait files for personal use, including:

  • Printing for home or office

  • Framing or gifting

  • Graduation announcements

  • Wedding stationery

  • Personal social media posts

  • Personal websites or blogs

  • Scrapbooks, memory books, or keepsakes

Personal use means anything that is not generating income, not being sold, and not being used by a business or organization.

You may print your artwork as many times as you like for personal use.

Commercial Use (Not Included)

Commercial use is not permitted without written permission.

This includes:

  • Selling prints, products, or merchandise

  • Using the artwork in a business, brand, or marketing materials

  • Using the artwork on packaging, labels, or promotional items

  • Uploading the artwork to print‑on‑demand platforms

  • Using the artwork in paid advertising

  • Using the artwork as part of a logo or brand identity

If you are interested in commercial licensing, please contact me at support@thecalligraphersletter.com.

Copyright Ownership

All artwork — calligraphy and portraits — is created by hand and remains the intellectual property of The Calligrapher’s Letter.

This means:

  • You receive usage rights, not ownership of the artwork itself

  • You may not claim the artwork as your own creation

  • You may not alter, edit, or modify the artwork beyond what is delivered

  • You may not use the artwork to train AI models or upload it to AI tools

This protects the artistic integrity of the work and ensures consistency across all pieces.

Artist Portfolio Use

I may display your artwork in:

  • My website portfolio

  • Social media

  • Product listings

  • Marketing materials

This helps future customers see examples of the work I create.

If you prefer your artwork not be shared publicly, you may request privacy at any time.

Just email support@thecalligraphersletter.com with your order number.

Editing or Altering Artwork

To maintain artistic quality and protect the integrity of the work:

  • You may not edit, recolor, crop, or alter the artwork

  • You may not add filters or effects

  • You may not remove my signature (if present)

  • You may not use AI tools to modify or extend the artwork

If you need changes, please refer to the Revisions & Proofs Page.

File Sharing

You may share your files with:

  • Your printer

  • Your designer (for invitations, announcements, etc.)

  • Family members

You may not share the files publicly for download or distribution.
